Affidavit of Theft: Meaning, Purpose, and Sample Form
An Affidavit of Theft is a sworn legal document executed by a person whose property has been unlawfully taken. It formally narrates the facts and circumstances surrounding the theft and is commonly required when reporting incidents to the police, barangay, insurance companies, banks, or other government and private institutions.
This affidavit is executed under oath and must be truthful and accurate. False statements may result in legal liability.
When Is an Affidavit of Theft Required?
