Arcade Attendant Job Description
An Arcade Attendant is responsible for assisting customers, maintaining arcade machines, ensuring smooth operations, and providing a fun and safe environment for guests. They support gameplay areas, help troubleshoot machine issues, reload game cards or tokens, and ensure that all guests—especially children and families—have an enjoyable entertainment experience.
Arcade attendants work in family entertainment centers, amusement parks, malls, and game zones. The role requires excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, and the ability to handle minor technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with using arcade machines, game cards, tokens, and prize redemption systems.
- Monitor the arcade area, ensuring a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of arcade machines (jams, card errors, ticket issues, minor resets).
- Guide guests on game rules and machine operation when needed.
- Provide customer service by answering inquiries and resolving minor concerns.
- Assist in inventory and restocking of prizes and redemption items.
- Conduct basic cleaning and sanitation of game machines, controls, seats, and play areas.
- Report machine breakdowns or technical issues to maintenance or management.
- Support birthday parties, events, and group activities inside the arcade area.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of arcade machines or willingness to learn troubleshooting steps.
- Friendly, energetic, and approachable personality.
- Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling tokens, game cards, or cash (if assigned to the counter).
- Attention to safety, especially around children.
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Educational Requirements
- High school graduate or college-level.
- Experience in customer service or entertainment facilities is an advantage but not required.
- Technical knowledge or basic repair skills is a plus.
