Playground Attendant (Kids Play Area) Job Description
A Playground Attendant in a kids play area is responsible for ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and well-being of children playing inside indoor playgrounds, mall play areas, and family entertainment centers. This role involves supervising kids, assisting parents, maintaining cleanliness, enforcing safety rules, and providing friendly customer service.
The playground attendant plays a key role in creating a fun and secure environment, making sure that children follow proper behavior and that the play equipment is safe, clean, and ready for use at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children within the play area to ensure safe and proper use of equipment.
- Assist kids and parents during check-in, playtime, and check-out processes.
- Explain playground rules to children and guardians to maintain safety and order.
- Monitor children’s behavior and intervene when necessary to prevent accidents or conflicts.
- Clean and sanitize play equipment, toys, mats, and play zones regularly.
- Report broken, malfunctioning, or unsafe equipment to management immediately.
- Engage children with fun activities, games, or basic assistance as needed.
- Provide customer service, answer inquiries, and address minor concerns professionally.
- Assist in organizing birthday parties, events, or group play sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children.
- Patience, attentiveness, and a cheerful personality.
- Ability to remain alert and supervise multiple kids at once.
- Physically fit and able to walk, kneel, bend, or lift light equipment.
- Basic knowledge of child safety procedures.
- Customer service experience is an advantage.
- Willingness to work shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
Educational Requirements
- High school graduate or college-level.
- Experience in childcare, teaching, or daycare assistance is preferred but not required.
- Training in first aid or basic life support is a plus.
