Presentation

of the story:
HIT THE MARK
Everybody
was rushing to the Principal’s office. The list of pupils who had successfully
passed the requirements for graduation was with Mrs. Ada Antes, the principal
of Sunflower Elementary School. Evangeline and Mary Florence were among those
who wanted to see whether they made it or not.
“Evangeline,
what do you think? Did we make it? I know our parents want to see us go up on
stage. They expect us to go to high school. I’m nervous,” said Mary Florence.
“Did
you do your best when you were taking the examination? There is nothing to
worry about if you know you have given your best. Let us just wait. Oh, there
comes Mrs. Imingan. Let us ask her if we passed the test”, Evangeline said.
“Ma’am,
are we on the list? We are afraid we may not have passed. We studied hard
during the finals and we really hope we made it.”
“Congratulations
to both of you! You passed the exams. As a matter of fact, both of you will go
up the stage not only to receive diploma but to receive medals. You both made
it to the top,” Mrs. Imingan replied.
Really! I’m sure our parents will
be very happy when they hear the news. Imagine, we did not only hit the mark.
We even hit the target,” said Evangeline.
“You
both deserve it. You’ve been very good pupils. Whatever honors you will receive
now is the fruit of your labor. You have worked hard, you deserve it. Tell your
parents that they are expected to be present during the graduation program.
They will pin the medals on you.”
Of
course, Ma’am. They will surely attend
the program. This is what they have been waiting for,” exclaimed Mary Florence.
“See
you later, girls, but you still have to see Mrs. Antes because you have to get
the results of the exams from her. She will also give you the details of the
graduation ceremony we will have at the end of March,” said Mrs. Imingan as she
proceeded to the faculty room.
The
two girls waited for their turn in front of the Principal’s office. They didn’t
mind waiting because they now knew that their efforts had been rewarded.
