The Council of the gods
Jupiter
was seated on his throne of gold and precious stones. Juno, his wife was on his
right and on his left was Pallas (Minerva) his daughter and councilor. Behind
him and his wife are Hebe and Ganymede and towards his right side is Justice,
seated on her throne. In the group of gods are Saturn, the beautiful Venus, the
divine Apollo and the eight muses, Mars, Bellona, Alcides and Momus. After
dancing they all arrange themselves at the side of the stage. Mercury arrives
and speaks of how he delivered the orders of Jupiter, but he was not pleased.
While Hebe and Ganymede were bringing out the drinks of the immortal they were
singing some kind of hymn. Minerva was offended by this and stopped them, but
Selene defended her disciples. Minerva was about to speak but Jupiter stopped
her. After all the gods have drunk Jupiter began to speak. He announced that
the gods should present a mortal whom they considered as worthy of the rewards
he is going to give. The gifts are the trumpet made of a metal that only Vulcan
knows how to make, a lyre like Apollo’s but the strings that has no rivals and
a wreath woven by the graces of the best laurel that grows in his immortal
gardens. Juno presented Homer; for her he is the one who is worthy to receive
all the rewards, but Venus disagreed for her the one who was truly worthy was
Virgil. After some debate between Juno and Venus, Juno suggested that they
should Minerva on who she thinks is worthy. Juno expecting that Minerva will
favor her decision was surprised when she suggested that Cervantes was the one
who was worthy. So the debate continues between Juno, Venus and Minerva. When
Mars noticed that Jupiter was beginning to favor Minerva with Cervantes he made
a stand and objected and Juno was pleased with it. But Minerva continuously
defended Cervantes. Jupiter was irritated with all of this so he let Justice to
decide. Justice stands on the middle, she balanced all of them after some time
the results became clear and all the three was equal. Jupiter announced to give
Homer the trumpet, Virgil the lyre and Cervantes the laurel. He ordered Apollo
to do a hymn and Apollo did so.
Geronimo Stilton, Secret Agent
Geronimo
Stilton just woke up; he looked outside to check on the weather and there he
saw a strange rodent wearing black sunglasses, it felt strange but he paid no
attention. He got ready for work and headed to the subway when he noticed that
he was being followed by the same strange rodent. He went to his work, but
still it kept on following him. It started to creep him out. The strange rodent
followed him all day. He just couldn’t take it all, so he opened the door and
yelled at the rodent. Finally that strange rodent introduced himself and he
turned out to be Kornelius Von Kickpaw, Geronimo’s old classmate and friend.
Geronimo invited him to his house and there they caught up with each other.
There Geronimo found out that his friend was a secret agent, but he did not
believe him. So Kornelius took him to his mansion to have proof. Geronimo just
couldn’t believe what he sees it was just so AMAZING! There he met Veronica,
Kornelius sister. Then Kornelius took him to his secret lab. There he showed
him everything. After looking around Kornelius finally said his intentions. He
wanted to protect Geronimo and to be his bodyguard, but Geronimo politely denied
and left. The next day Geronimo was extra happy thinking of his old friend and
went to work. Everything was perfect until Prescilla reminded him of a meeting,
which he completely forgot. He hurriedly went to his office when a strong wind
came and lifted an envelope with a red seal, he tried to catch it but he was
too late. He thought to himself that it was not important and to just forget
it. That very moment his grandfather came in, angry, he was so late. They went
to the conference room, after a little while he fell asleep. Then suddenly his
grandfather yelled at him looking for an envelope, he was too embarrassed, he
had lost an important document. Afterwards he went to his office thinking on
what to do when his grandfather came in. His grandfather told him that he just
did not lost any document but the deed of their land and left. He did not know
what to do, he visualized the deed in the hands of their worst rival, Sally
Ratmousen, how horrible. Looking at the picture of him at the top of Mouse
Everest gave him strength to carry on. He made a list to keep himself organize
and called his friends for help but no one was available so he worked alone.
First he called the weather center to check the directions where the wind went,
unfortunately the wind changed its direction every 15 minutes and so it was all
over town. He started to look in Mouse City Port, he looked everywhere even on
trashcans, it was so embarrassing! To top it all there was still no sign of the
envelope. Too depressed he sat on the sidewalk still thinking on what he should
do. He thought to himself that it might have been swept and took to the dump
and so there he went to look for it. Upon looking for the envelope an avalanche
started it almost buried him alive but someone had saved him, who could it have
been?
That very
moment the envelope blew right on top of him, he tried to reach it but the
envelope went down the mouse hole. He had no choice but to follow it. There in
the sewers he found it but between the teeth of an enormous crocodile. He
fainted in fear, but when he woke up he found himself on the streets, which
could have save him yet again? As he looked up there he found the envelope, but
it went inside a window, the window of Sally Ratmousen. He had no choice but to
get it. After some attempts he managed to get the envelope in his hands, but
Sally grabbed him by tail and the envelope flew away. Sally’s bodyguards
imprisoned him to the broom closet; it was all over… when suddenly someone yet
again rescued him, when he opened his eyes he was outside. He began to think
about the envelope and started to cry. Then suddenly Kornelius came. Geronimo
told him everything. Then Kornelius handed him the envelope with the red seal.
That very moment he hurriedly went to the conference room. There his
grandfather was waiting for him, he gave him the envelope. His grandfather
announced that it was just a test and that he passed it. That envelope wasn’t
the real deed it was just a test to see how he loves their land. The next day
Kornelius came to his office and gave Geronimo a special phone so that he can
contact him whenever he needed help. His aunt was right……

The Mona Mousa Code
It was
already late at night. Geronimo Stilton just got home, but as he walk up he
noticed that something was wrong, there is definitely something WRONG! The door
was open and the lights were on. He tiptoed to the door. Someone broke in his
house, he was sure of it. Suddenly a shadow appeared in the kitchen. Geronimo
hid behind the curtain , but a greasy hand moved the curtain aside. Geronimo almost had a heart attack when he
realized that it was only his cousin, Trap. They talked a little and trap told
him that he had a scoop for the Rodent’s Gazette; it was about the Mona Mousa.
Next morning trap went to Geronimo’s office to discuss about the news, they
were arguing about splitting the profits when Thea Stilton (Geronimo’s sister)
came to the room, she too knew about this and bargained with them. They all
agreed to split the profit equally. Benjamin Stilton (Geronimo’s favorite
nephew) also came with them. Trap told them everything he knew and so did Thea.
They first went to the museum to get some details about the painting. They
first went to the 2nd floor where Thea met with a friend and they
went to the 4th floor. There they met Thea’s new boyfriend, Frick
Tapioca, who is also a museum expert. He filled them with all the details and
gave them a cd of the hidden pictures in the Mona Mousa painting. Just then the
museum curator, Simeon Strachfur, came, he saw all of them. But Thea and her
companions were in a hurry and so they hurriedly left. When they arrived they
looked themselves into Geronimo’s office to solve the mystery. Benjamin
inserted the cd in the computer and different images started to appear. Upon
looking at it Geronimo saw some tiny writings below the pictures. It did not
make any sense until Thea placed in front of a mirror, it all made sense, they
know where to begin. They all went to the Pelican’s Pillar which was located in
the local fish market, where the 1st clue was hidden. There they
found a friend of Trap, Coral Crocker, who guided them to the Pelican’s Pillar.
There on the Pillar stood a statue of a Pelican holding a fish in its beak.
There they found it! The first hidden letter was located in the tail of the fish;
it was the letter “Y”. Coral told them that there was also a widow old mouse that
was also checking the pillar. How STRANGE??
They went back to Geronimo’s office; there Thea drew a picture of the old widow
mouse. It was very strange. They started to work on the 2nd clue.
Thea was the one who worked on the 2nd clue. She met up with Trap’s
friend who helped her. The tail measure itself was the hidden letter; it was
the letter “I”. Another strange mouse also went there and took a picture of the
tail measure. The next day they went to the museum to check on the Goblet of
the Silver Rodent, but it was not there, it was on loan with Steven Spielmouse.
They went back to the office hoping that Trap was close with him but it was the
exact opposite. So Thea and Geronimo went to the set where he was filming,
there they found a Roman gladiator who was also checking the goblet, then it
mysteriously disappeared. How STRANGE?? They
also sneaked inside to check on it but they were caught when Steven knew that
he was a relative of Trap he became very angry. While he was having a tantrum,
Geronimo and Thea slipped away. Fortunately Thea found the hidden letter; it
was the letter “H”. Then he went to the cheese factory for the next two clues.
The 4th clue was in the seal of Mouselius and the 5th
clue was in the Cheddar Fountain. There they met Benny Bluewhiskers, a friend
of Trap, whom helped them to find the next clues. In the seal they found the
letter “T” and in the fountain they found the letter “B”. Before they leave
Benny told them that 2 strange mice also went there to check on these things.
The next day Geronimo and Benjamin went to the amusement park to look for the
6th clue. There they met Trap’s another friend whom helped them also. They went
to Cat’s rock where they found the letter “R” and before they left he told them
that another strange mouse came there yesterday and checked that rock also. The
next day Geronimo set out to look for the next clue. He went to the Tricks for
Tail shop where he met another of Trap’s friend. After some playful pranks he
finally helped him. There he found the next hidden letter; the letter “L”.
Later that day they all went to the house of Trap, there they talked about all
the clues they founds, Thea announced that she went to the bank and found the
next clue and it was the letter “A” and that a strange mouse kept watching him.
The next morning went to the elementary school to look for the next clue. There
they met up with Trap’s old teacher whom helped them to find the next clue. In
the statue there they found the letter “S”. He told them that another mouse was
looking for it also yesterday. The next day Geronimo went to the gym to look
for other clues. There he saw Thea and met with Trap’s another friend. There
they found the hidden letter “N”. Trap’s friend told them that another mouse
went there yesterday looking for the same pool. They all met up. Trap announced
that he found the last clue and it was the letter “U”. All the clues were
finally complete. It made up the word “LABYRINTHUS”, the ancient library. Soon
they figured out that it was hidden at the heart of the city, “The Singing
stone Plaza” so they went there. After they arrived they’ve searched the place
for clues but they found nothing. They were beginning to lose hope and Geronimo
was depressed. So Trap climb the pillar to at least cheer Geronimo up, but
still even though he was so high up there was no clues. He shouted at the top,
it echoed everywhere; it was so loud that the ground began to shake. Soon the
pillar turned upside down and the Labyrinthus appeared. They explored the whole
library, it was filled with rare books after a little while they went back, at
first they were lost but the retraced their steps through the path they have
made. When they finally reached the entrance they heard a strange noise but it
was only Trap. They heard another noise and it wasn’t Trap anymore. They hid
behind the bookshelf. Trap captured the person who was making the noise and
they were surprised to see that it was Simeon Starchfur, the curator at the
museum. He explained everything and told them that he was all the mice who
followed them. Few months later, a book was published about this and a new
movie was to be made about this also. That night Thea, Geronimo, Benjamin and
Trap Stilton were to be awarded for they have done.

Misfit
The other
angels were discussing about the new “hippie” angel Bro. Inlo. They were
talking of how much he did not belong to heaven and how much he doesn’t deserve
to an angel. When suddenly the lunch bell rings. All the angels went to the
dining hall. There they blessed the food and impatiently waited for Bro. Inlo.
No one could eat if one was missing. All the angels were hungry and angry at
Bro. Inlo who was so late. Finally, after quite some time Bro. Inlo arrives.
When everyone was already ready to begin, the bell signaling that lunch was
over rings. Everyone complained for not having any lunch, prayed and left. All
the angels were at their quarters praying, meditating and sleeping when
suddenly a loud blast of music broke their peace. The music was so loud that
they follow it to see where it was coming. They saw that the source was Bro.
Inlo as expected. All the angels confronted him. They said that if he won’t
stop this nonsense they will tell it to St. Peter, but they were surprised to
see that St. Peter was there sleeping with the music of Bro. Inlo. The
archangel Gabriel arrives and announced that they were all being called. All
the angels left except for Bro. Inlo. After a little while Bro. Inlo arrives.
God announced that the man who killed Bro. Inlo was at the gate asking for
permission to enter. Bro. Inlo insisted to let him in but all the other angels
disagreed. The other angels made a proposal, that if Bro. Inlo leaves only they
would accept the man in heaven. At first Bro. Inlo hesitated but he sacrificed
himself for the man who killed him. God was pleased and announced that
everything was just a test in which Bro. Inlo passed. By this the angels
realized what they have done and asked for forgiveness. Finally everyone lived
happy and the angels accepted Bro. Inlo.

The Soul of the Great Bell
Nearly Five hundred years ago the
City of Peking was ruled over by Yung-lo.
He instructed the worthy official Kouan-Yu to make a bell out of the
mixed elements of brass, gold, silver and iron and that it should be heard for
one hundred li and it would be placed at the center of the city. Kouan-Yu
assembled all the people that would be needed for this task. They started to
work, they labored exceedingly, neglecting sleep, and it’s like they never felt
tired. But when they were starting to mix all the elements a problem occurred.
The elements reacted with each other and wouldn’t combine and so they have to
start all over again. The mighty Yung-lo heard the news but let it slide. The
bell was cast the second time, but it was even worse. All the elements still
refused to combine and the bell couldn’t be formed. And so they have to start
again. Yung-lo was angered by this and so he sent a letter to Kouan-Yu containing
the red seal. It says that if he failed for the third time his life would be
the payment of his failure. Kouan-Yu’s beautiful daughter, Ko-Ngai, who loved
him so much saw the letter. She feared for her father and so she secretly sold
some of her belongings and used it to pay the astrologer whom she consulted on
what to do for her father’s position. The astrologer said that for all the
elements to combine together the flesh of a maiden must be sacrificed. Ko-Ngai
returned home sorrowful but she kept it to herself. Finally the awful day has
come. Ko-Ngai and her lady-in-waiting accompanied her father to the foundry.
They stayed on a platform overlooking the molders. Everyone worked in silence,
finally when Kouan-Yu was about to give the signal to begin the casting Ko-Ngai
yelled from the platform and jumped in the boiling chemicals. His father wanted
to follow her but his men held him back, and her lady-in-waiting was still
surprised to what happened. She tried to save her but she only manages to grab
her mistress’s shoe. Everyone was devastated to what happened but they must
finish Yung-Lo’s command and so they started to work again. After all the
attempts the elements finally combined. As they form the bell no trace of
Ko-Ngai’s body was found. The bell turned out to be more beautiful than
expected. Whenever the bell was to be sounded it seems to say the name Ko-Ngai.
Whenever the people heard this sound they would always say to their children
that it was Ko-Ngai crying and looking for her shoe.

Water
This
poem says of how men are like water. It benefits from all things. Men are like
water in which it can cope with all the different situations. It says that like
water men are very down to Earth, that is kind to everyone, that men are
sincere and pure like water, that men loves peace, that men are flexible like
water, that men has the great timing. That men does not compete to raise
himself, that men does not contend and do not reproach.
