The world we live in is so big that there are many things that make our minds wonder. We always encounter different situations that give birth to multiple questions like those that asking what comes after death, what is the meaning of living if you would die in the end, and many more. Our minds just never stop craving for answers and new knowledge. This is the beauty of philosophy in our lives. We do not just breathe, eat, and sleep all day; we also seek answers or reasons for things in order to broaden and improve our understanding of the world around us. We do not limit ourselves to what we must know. We are not afraid to appear ignorant in front of other people, since it is only by admitting that we know nothing that we begin to obtain new wisdom.
As a young person
and as a student of wisdom, philosophy has always been an important element of
my life. I have always had many questions for the people around me since I was
a kid. It started with easy inquiries like how to change the channel on the
television and progressed to queries about basic human skills like how to cook
a hot dog or iron clothes. My curiosity to learn such things has helped me
thrive in life, and I must say that having the ability to philosophize has
taken me to where I am today and where I will be in the near future since I
never stop looking forward to gaining new knowledge and wisdom every day.
Philosophy has also helped me obtain a broad perspective in life, as some of
the wonders I have in mind made me realize that the human mind has different
ways of perceiving things and they have different reasons behind their actions
and behaviors. It encouraged me to look at the bigger picture of every
situation before forming an opinion or making a decision.
Through
philosophy, I realized that my life perspective could broaden. It did not just
help me to look for wisdom but also helped me be a better person. It shaped me
into becoming a new version of myself who is more understanding of my
surroundings and knowledgeable about the world. I can conclude that acquiring
that kind of wisdom has given me the best weapon a person could ever have. This
is because I can apply philosophy to all parts of my life, whether they are
personal or academic aspects.
